View coastal, open ocean, and island environments all on one fun filled trip. Take part in experiencing a side of Southern California that many never get to enjoy!
The waters surrounding Newport Harbor offer deep nutrient rich waters which draw not only Gray Whales but all types of dolphin, seals, fish, and numerous other marine creatures. The underwater Newport Canyon running very close to shore brings nutrient rich waters incredibly close and as a result Gray whales are often seen just outside the harbor entrance. Whale sightings are a luxury that can be offered because of the abundant sea life that is attracted to these waters.
Catalina Island is one of the most productive spots in Southern California for spotting grey whales during their migration. With numerous sightings very possible, Catalina Island is a whale watching hot spot. While viewing the beautiful coastline of Catalina you may spot a bald eagle snatching a fish from the ocean's surface. Harbor seals are also found at play in the protected waters and expansive kelp forests that line the Catalina coast.
Upon reaching Catalina Island, the cruise stops at Two Harbors for a 2 hour drop off. During this time you can get a bite to eat or explore Catalina.
